On behalf of all of us at the World Kido Federation, I want to wish you all a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
2022 was an eventful year. After a three year hiatus, I was so happy to see many of you at the Korea Trip. To be able to come together to train, compete, and celebrate with each other was a well deserved reward after overcoming these last few difficult years. This past year felt like a return to normalcy for our lives and our martial arts training.
However, I challenge our members to have a different mindset as we enter into 2023. As we continue to move on from the pandemic, we have the ability to take the lessons we learned, as well as the strength and fortitude that we gained, and apply it to our lives. When we talk about “returning to normal”, we must first recognize that we ultimately have control of what normal looks like. Therefore, the choice we have to make in 2023 is whether we will go back to our previous lives and routines, or are we willing to raise the expectations for ourselves going into the future. Even in a return to normalcy, we should still look to be forward thinking in how we can better ourselves.
And with that mindset and collective spirit, let us make 2023 a year to remember! Happy new year and I hope you have a joyous holiday season and fruitful new year!
