As 2024 ends, we would like to take a moment to reflect on an eventful and historic year!

In addition to the many seminars, training events, virtual meetings and a myriad of other noteworthy interactions and events throughout the year, we held the 13th World Kido Federation Korea Trip and World Hapkido Championships in Busan, South Korea! At the World Championship opening ceremony, we announced the official appointments of Grandmaster Scott Sung Yeel Seo/서성일 as President of Hanminjok Hapkido Association and Grandmaster Steve Sung Kwon Seo/서성권 as President of World Kido Federation. These appointments will ensure the leadership of both our Korean martial arts organization and our International martial arts organization will be secured for decades to come and establishes the foundation for the preservation of our Korean martial arts for future generations. While day-to-day operations and leadership has been passed on to GM Scott Seo and GM Steve Seo, GM In Sun Seo will continue to preside as Chairman over both Hanminjok Hapkido Association and World Kido Federation, providing the guidance, oversight and governance to drive the unity and vision that has enabled our success and growth for 60+ years. While the leadership structure and appointment are important to secure our future, it is equally important that all of you – our Grandmasters, Masters, Instructors, Black Belts and students do your part in supporting President Scott Seo and President Steve Seo by being the best possible martial artists, teachers, students and members of our communities. Please take a moment to think about your own goals and commitments you will make this coming year to better yourself and those you come in contact with in the martial arts. Only through our collective effort, hard work and focus can we ensure the Korean martial art that we love will continue to thrive and flourish not only for our own collective experiences, but for future generations to come! Let’s ensure we put in the work to be the best version of ourselves this year and positively impact everyone around us!As we look ahead to 2025, we look forward to many more exciting events, memorable interactions and making more history! We hope to see you at our WKF Member Summit in July in the San Francisco Bay Area or in other events we have planned throughout the year.
